Which Filter Is Best For 5 Gal?

My betta is currently living in a 5 gal tank with a Whisper 10i filter linked below. This filter is kinda big in my opinion for this tank since the entire filter is submerge in water. Is there a smaller filter which would be better for a 5 gallon tank? The reason I want a smaller filter is because I want to divide the tank in half to house 2 betta, so I want to give it as much room as possible to swim around.

I have the Whisper 3i, a much smaller version of the 10i in my 5 gallon and it works fine. It doesn't take up too much room, but I'd still prefer a HOB filter. Oh well, one day when I upgrade I suppose! Good luck!

I use the Aquaclear 20 for my 5g. At max it has a strong current, but if it is planted, only half the tank will have that "swoosh".
