Hi all in the CF Forum :good:

I am in the middle of changing around my tanks and introducing a new 3ft which will leave my Hex tank with 8 Neon Tetras and a few Guppies. The substrate will be sand/peat mix I think. I would like to add some bottom dwelling Catfish. (as Hector the BN Pleco will be moving to his new home in the 3ft tank). I would love some suggestions as to which species to add, how many and why. I have not kept any of the smaller Catfish before so any advice would be most welcome
Hope you can help & thanks in advance

It all depends on the tank dimensions. With a smaller surface area, you could add a small group of Pygmy Cories. A larger surface area would enable you to add a small group of Cories like Sterbai, Julii, Rabauti etc.

bronze corys, pygmy corys, any smal type really- google corydoras, however if its a hex tank then how bigs the surface, catfish may not be suited to a larger tank vertically to horizontally.

Hi

Not sure how to work out the surface area, but the tank is 18 inches high and each side of the hex is 9 inches

Just did a quick Google, came across a gorgeous species called Corydoras Haraldshultzi (Australian). also another similar looking species from South America Leopard Cory Cat. Looks like I'm going to have to do alot more research lol

Ok Consensus seems to be Pygmy's. How many for that size tank?

Cool. I have googled them, and they seem to be ideal for my peaceful little aquarium. Thanks Guys
