Notting sure how to start a new topic. Currently got albino cherry’s and five bands. Are there any barbs that swim mainly in the upper half of the tank? Thanks

I have moved your post to start a new thread, so it won't get lost in the other thread.

Barbs go all over the place. They are really very energetic fish.

It would help to know the tank size, both volume and especially dimensions as barbs being active swimmers require sufficient space. Water parameters too, being the hardness (GH) and pH particularly.

Depending upon the tank dimensions, adding a few more of the two existing species would be advisable before adding a third species. All barbs are shoaling fish so they need a group of their own species and more is always better for their well being.

There are no barbs that will stay in the upper layers. Plenty of other Cyprinids though, eg danios and rasboras.

I find now I've got into the floating plant lark that all sorts of bottom dwellers count the top as the bottom. And I'm starting to suspect the cories have figured out the shrimplets hide in the plants in the middle.
