thought u were american, cos its way to late for anyone normal to be on at this time

The tank you have sounds big enough to me, you'd just have a little less of a margine for error. If I calculated right it's about the size of a 30 gallon...it's a little bigger than my 29 so I'm just guessing.

O cool

If its 30 gallon, im gonna go ahead wit salt water

If its any less I aint

Just gotta find out now, hope it is 30 gallon. cos I like the salt water fish more

I found a table to work out the size of tank a while back now I have lost it

anyone know where that it

30 is still too small for a newbie. It doesn't sound as though you know too much about saltwater (i'm new too) hop along to the SW forum and look at the pinned posts they'll give you some help. If you haven't tried FW the going to SW is a complete no no. For someone with little experience and money then SW is completely out of the question (thats why i'm not going to attempt it for some time  )

naww, just spoke to dad

recon im gonna go wit salt water, he recons it takes a little bit moe looking after and the fish dont last as long

It be ok

Keeping a freshwater tank is COMPLETELY different than keeping a saltwater, except that they both have water. Just so you know...

I hope your dad has a lot of experience and I hope you really do more research before you decide to do this. Its much more complicated than you think, I can promise you that. Money-wise, my 75 gallon reef tank I'm setting up has about a $2200 price tag on it already, without any livestock, and corals and marine fish are very expensive (not unusual to pay 50-100 or more for a single specimen).

not really

see loasd of salt water fish for about 4 quid

and can get a starter set of coral for about 30 quid

so it aint gonna cost the earth, its only a 30 gallon tank
