Does anyone know where to get ADF from? I've never seen them in LFS (haven't been looking before though). I live in wokingham so anywhere near there would be helpful.

We decided we're going to get a small tank with a betta and some ADF. What sort of tank size will we need? We only want 2 or 3 frogs.

Also how would corys fit in this equation, or are they a no no with froggies?

Sorry for so many questions, just wanna get it right!

Thanks,

As the case is with all aquatic life(well most) the bigger tank the better, but I'd say around 10 gallons would be perfect for a betta & 4 or 5 frogs as frogs like being in groups(or you could go for around 8G with 3 frogs & a betta), you'll have to keep an eye on the betta though as it may be overly aggressive and have a go at the frogs but they usually co-exist peacfully.

Corys can be kept with adf's but in my experience it's a bad idea, frogs have very bad eyesight and rely on smell to find food which the corys will find before them. People who keep adf's in community tanks usually have to target feed the frogs. I had my adf's in with my corys for a couple of weeks and they lost alot of weight because they didn't get the food before the corys, even when I placed it in their cave.

Not sure where you can get them from in your area, according to tropicalfishfinder.co.uk the only shops that have them in stock at the moment are wholesale tropicals & aquatic design centre in London and dartford aquatics in kent. If your willing to get them via post dartford aquatics offer a delivery service. The only places near me(cambridgeshire) that I know of that stock them are pets at home huntingdon(they have them in stock now) and huntingdon garden & leisure(they haven't had any for a few months though).

Make sure you get african dwarf frogs and not clawed frogs as well, dwarf frogs have webbed front & back feet wheras clawed only have webbed back feet, clawed frogs tend to be much larger as well.
