Where to find a nice sized bowl?

I found a perfect hex shaped bowl in a pet store, but it was actually used as a dog treat holder. I asked for a fish bowl just like it, and she dumped the treats out and handed it to me. I haven't actually measured its water contents, but it is much heavier than my one gallon, so I'd guess it holds around 2 - 2 1/2 gallons. Anyway, it's plastic but beautiful looking and a little lid with holes for air fits perfectly over the top hole. I'd like to get another one though, and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find one for my other betta.--(perhaps a restuarant supply shop?) I can't find petstores that carry them.

I know we all hate the dreaded Walmart, but I was in there a few weeks ago with the hubby and we were looking at vases. They have some huge vases and different shaped bowls, most well over a gallon each for about $5.00 each. I thought how good they would be for bettas when I saw them. Unfortunately the hubby wouldn't go for my "betta bookends" idea.

Thanks, they're pretty, but I'm specifically looking for the angular shaped bowl as I can't find them anywhere. Thanks for the link though--And I LOVE you sig pic! It made me laugh

HEy Prizm, thats a lovely betta bowl. Can you remember the brand of dog treat that was in there? I dont mind buying it just for that container!! I dotn even have a dog!

Aaaack! I DON'T! But, it was a hamburger shaped treat and I got it at Petco! I'll let you know when/if I find out!

Just curious, how much would you be willing to pay for it? (And anyone else reading this!) Because I have a feeling I could get them ordered in bulk from a friend who owns a restaurant, and I could re-sell them to us fish folk if enough people want one!

I've been after a nice big bowl for a betta. I was hoping to do something more 'decorative', either for the centre of my room or a pursuasion method to let me move some fish downstairs. Unfourtunately, I'm looking at £30 odd for a decent sized one...

It was just a thought, I dotn think I'll get it right away. All my guys are comfortable right now. I was just thinking it would be nice if I end up with another betta.

I'll keep an eye out for anywhere to get nice bowls from. There are a lot of nice bi vases that would look lovely with a nice betta in. Stuff the plants!

I got a pretty round 1 gal. bowl from the Michaels's craft store on sale for like $ 1.87

Thanks, but I found a petstore that will sell me a case of 2.5 gallon hex bowls...They're about 8.00 each, but are very pretty and hold enough water for my blue betta, who is as active as a goldfish and needs lots of room!

*Nods* Who'd want to get their fins tangled in roots?! Underwater plants are nice though!
