Where To Buy?

I am looking for a pair of cichlids to be 'centre piece' fish for my tank. I am looking for something that won't grow bigger than 10" and will be hardy enough to live with my Barbs, but nice enough to not warrent a species specific tank. But... more importantly i need some fish that i can buy!!! i have not seen any fish in LFSs and am not having much luck on the internet. I live in Norfolk, UK

A pair of blue acaras would be my first choice.. but the problem is that if they start breeding, they could beat up everything else in the tank so two females might be best. Have you looked at Trimar? I have had good experience with them.

Any reason why a pair, if they start getting frisky you're in trouble

What size tank will they go into and what is current stocking? You've said barbs, but which ones and how big are they?

I am in Norfolk too, best places I know of are Swallow Aquatics at East Harling (between Attleborough and Thetford) and HB Aquatics in Norwich, but depending on what you decide on there are other places too...

Also if your tank is large enough I have some breeding Honduran Red Points, so I can sell on a few juvies to you if they would suit...but we need more info

edit: just seen your sig, is it up-to-date? You dojn't want a breeding pair in with that lot...they're likely to get picked off even when no breeding is going on...go with dwarf cichlids to give your existing fish a chance I'd say. HB have had apisto's in store every time I've visited...

Cryptoheros Cutteri - 4" and from Maidenhead Aquatics Crowland. (If they're still there) Mine are amazingly behaved and very happy. I know it's a good hour + drive but it's worth it to have a look. If not them then Rainbow Cichlids or something similar. This shop is very good with oddball cichlids so you'll probably see something you like. Or there's alway sevs.
