Where To Buy Amano Shrimp Near Huddersfied?

Hi All...

My first topic!!!
Anyway Ive been running my first planted tank with co2 and flourish for a few weeks now and I believe it has gone through two bouts of white cloudy water but has now settled down. Although its still slighty green now. I have a uv light on its way though!!
I was hoping to get a few amano shrimps into the tank to keep the algae down especially as I think I have staghorn on my java fern leaves. The problem is I live near Huddersfield and I cannot find lfs which stock them. Does anyone out there know of any local. I would order online but only as last resort.

how local does it need to be, know a few places around leeds/bradford... is that too far to travel?

No leeds bradford is fine I guess..... West yorkshire in general!

ok, our fave shop in leeds who very nearly always have them is paws for thought on york rd in leeds.

or try QSS on wakefield rd in Bradford who also have them in fairly regularly.

if your gonna travel for them i'd recommend you ring up first and check they have some in stock, all the staff in both shops are dead friendly and helpful so just give them a call.

yeah they're a good shop, we were just saying the other day we should pop over soon, not been up there in a month or two now.

I tried QSS they told me to try again in 3weeks!! Anyother ideas anyone or is the online option my main route?

Did you get any cherries mate?

I'm currently after some myself (also Leeds/wakefield/west yorks area) and am trying to find somewhere local that stocks them.


I phoned QSS as they have loads of recommendations on here and they said they dont stock them at all. Havent found anywhere to get them yet. And online, they seem to want to sell them 10 at a time, but I only want 5 or 6!!
