I've currently got a relatively small 15G tank in my kitchen but I've really caught the fishkeeping bug and want to move to a larger tank...

My problem is where to put it - many places I've thought of will get direct sunlight, so are probably not ideal places.

So please share where you keep your tanks and what problems (if any) you have keeping them there...

Just interested to kno where people keep their fish (ie, bedroom, lounge, kitchen, etc)!!

I keep mine in the corner of the lounge away from the window. A good & safe location for viewing your new fish.

If you are looking at big tanks then be sure to take into account just how heavy it will be when filled when considering the room/cabinet eg. upstairs. Also placing it in a place when it will be passed a lot could cause it to get knocked a lot or the fish to get stressed.

Using 'none-official' cabinets can also invalidate a tanks warantee if they fall or break :(

The 19 gallon is in the dining room, the 15 gallon in the bedroom, the 6 gallon in my office, I've earmarked a corner for the 63 gallon in the living-room (coming this autumn!), and my daughter says she wants a tank in her bedroom- hang on, the bathroom's looking a bit empty!

i have a 55 gallon tank and i have it infront of a window. but i have a backround and i keep the blinds down and i have had the tank there for like three months and i havent had a problem yet

1 55 gal living room (soon to be joined by a 100gal)
2 side by side 40 gal talls dinning room
2 5 gal one on each computer desk
1 30 gal sons room
1 30 gal little girls room
2 10 gal my room
you know there is not one in my kitchen.....*grabs measuring tape!*

I have a 30 Gallon cabinet tank in my lounge ( guppies)
& a 10 Gallon tank in my kitchen ( goldfish)

hmm.... i have one on my study desk (10 gal) and another one on a stand besides my bed (30 gal)... its great seeing those fishies swim around while you doze off...

My 10 gallon is on my once-nightstand turned tank stand next to my bed, my 29 gallon is also in my room along the wall farthest from my window. My 55 gallon is downstairs in my brother's old room (he moved out) and I have an empty 29 on my bedroom floor :)

55 uk gallon in lounge corner so it's out of sun light and can't be knocked. I've seen fish in conservatories and it's a big no no due to big heat fluctuations

Mines in the corner in the living room away from the window.. the only place it can actually go.. my house is tiny... but I have to admit that in the summer I will be having some problems I think as a shard of light will be on the bottom left corner of it.

Hi. I have my tank in my bedroom. I don't really have any problems with keeping it in here except that the filter makes a little more noise than i would like. It's not too busy in there with people traffic and it doesn't get too much direct sunlight.
