I'm thinking of switching all my bettas to 1-2 gallon bowls for aesthetic reasons. I need 25 of them. Does anyone know where I can get good bowls in bulk? Has anyone found a website that sells them? I'm having no luck. :dunno:

try ebay they have some

i just saw this ones

I know it's not much good to you but in the UK Wilkinsons sells that tank for £4.99
it holds 2 gallons seems expensive on ebay. Do a google search and type buy betta bowl see what comes up.

Hey, I'm new and this is the second fish forum that I've found-my suggestion is, if you got time I'd suggest garage/yard sales, you might get lucky in a weekend and get plenty of bowls for little to nothing.

Hit the dollar stores and look in the glasswares. We have a store here called The Dollar Tree,it's kind of an 'upscale' dollar store, everything's a buck and sometimes they get some really nice glass containers in. Look for cookie jars etc.

I would imagine that with your new awesome shelf you would want them to be uniform in appearance, I know I would. If you could get something that's around 1.5'ish, that would be awesome. If you want to fork over a couple hundred bucks (which, in the end, might be worth it) they have those glass 2.5 rectangle tanks at Petsmart for 9.99 w/glass lids. I love them because they look like mini big tanks. Those would look amazing on that unit provided it could support about 400 evenly distributed pounds ( I suspect it would but I'm not there to test it's strength so you would know best..). And also provided that they're not too long.
I would go as far as to get them all identical centerpiece plants/rocks and then add a touch of uniqueness to each tank.

Good luck on your search and you HAVE to post pics when you're done. It's going to be awesome!

i also agree that those tanks from petsmart that are 9.99 would look awesome. I have a betta in a bowl like that. (well i call it the betta tank cause it looks so much like a mini tank.

You've figured out my plan! haha The dollar tree...i didn't think of that. I'll check it out tomorrow and see if I can find anything. I found some 1.25 gallon plastic bowls for a little less than $4 a piece online, but I'm not sure that I want those. I LOVE the 2.5 rectangle tanks at Petsmart, but I'm not sure that they would fit into the cubbies. I'll look into it. Right now I'm on a quest for some spawn-worthy bettas to round my gang out to 25 so that they'll all fit into the unit perfectly. I only need a couple more. It's fun to have a reason to "NEED" more bettas. :)

I'll post pics when it's all done. I think it'll be a few weeks yet.

Those tanks are 12 inches wide if that helps ya any. I always wanted something like that in my living room, but sadly I don't have the right wall space, and I have too many big tanks. I'd look like a real whack job with a million tanks AND a betta shrine. I havta draw the line somewhere :(
(So now I just keep my shrine tucked in the back room out of sight :shifty: )

I think an octagon, large cookie jar type thing would look awesome too. The biggest problem is finding clear glass that doesn't distort the fish.
