....and it comes in that little black thing, can you remove it and plant it?

i have alot of plants in my 10g tank- black sand substrate. im not thrilled with the plants that are in the black plastic planter containers. if i remove them, can i plant them directly in the sand?

thanks!

I think those little pots are great. I don't know what yours look like but mine are the cage-looking variety. Its useful for me because it keeps the plant together if I ever decide to move them. It also doesn't restrict the growth of the roots, and I am happy to say most of my plants also have a maturing root system. :)

You're supposed to remove the rock wool too. When I get potted plants like that, I take them out of the black plastic thing, pull all the rock wool off, and trim the roots just a bit to get them ready to start growing again. They CAN grow still in the rock wool and the plastic pot, but they'll grow faster if you plant them correctly.

I take off the pot and rockwool. Peel the rockwool off evry very carefully so as not to damage the roots. :)

They slow the growth of plants so some of mine I leave them in and some I take out matters waht tank and where it is placed. Also if I plan on moveing it I have one tank with just plants so I don't remove them there that way when it moved into another tank it is not rooted down in the tank.
