Had a little day trip out today, from Cardiff to Weston Super Mare .. which was a nice little drive.

Me and my girlfriend went to have a look around Seaquarium on Weston Super Mare front.
At £8 a person I was hoping that it was going to be good. 25 minutes later and a few pictures on the camera and it was all over.
Was pretty cool in there with a few nice tanks but it wasnt anything 'special'

Sitting in the cafe a little disappointed we decided to go to Blue Reef Aquarium in Bristol. It was amazing!
Was expensive to get in at £12.50 but it was definitely worth it. You could clearly see how much effort had been put in, with some massive tanks. The reef tank was hugeeeee! and there was an octopus there which was freaky :hyper:
Was crazy walking into a room and seeing a swimming pool sized tank full of fish! There was a massive marine tank and a cold water tank with cod and other sea water fish.

So if anyone is in the Bristol area and needs something to do, go here - http://www.bluereefaquarium.co.uk/bristol.htm

:good:

Back in the summer, I took my family to Bristol Zoo, which has an excellent aquarium section. In particular, they had an excellent Malawi biotope, a tank full of Ameca Splendens (Butterfly Goodeid), and a tank of Arowana and similarly sized cat fish. Strange to see the kind of fish that hobbyists could conceivably have, in an aquarium for the paying public to see.

And the gorillas were awesome, but that's another matter.
