when to Test

hey, ppl...i'm cycleing and i'm about to add my first dayly five drops of ammonia and i was woundering how long i should wait before i do a test?..btw i have a 10 gallon tank thanks for the help!

I test once a week just to make sure things are going well. I had no problems with the cycling either.

I test my water every other day while cycling, but I was keeping a log, so its all on you

I usually do my test before I add ammonia.

nope srry not english..but it took me a while to find my ammonia most grosery stores sell cleaning BRAND products..i checked 3 stores before i found it

test the level each day before you add the ammonia. If you mean when to test the initial level to see how much you have as a reference point, i usually wait about 30 mins and then check. Taht gives the filter lots of time to mix everything around so you can get afairly accurate reading. HTH
