When to remove bio balls

I have a 125 gal running with a wet/dry that I've also added LR rubble Grundge and macro to. My tank is 4 1/2 months old FOWLR and inverts how will I know when I can remove the bio balls there is a total of about 70 lbs of LR in the system

I also have a 125g with a wet/dry sump. When i started it I never even added the bio balls. I can't say i know when you should take yours out but their are some members here that should be able to help you.
