When To Add Cuc

Hi All

Do you have to fully cycle your tank before adding CUC or are they used when cycling, i think i proberly know the answer to this but i thought i might as well check.

Clean up crew, snails, crabs, shrimps, that kind of thing, they help to keep your reef clean

I fear my tank maybe completley brown by then, i have lots of goldy/browny stuff starting to cover my rocks, could they be diatons.

yeah, theyre all over my sand atm. Its amazing how quickly they can clean your tank though. Mine was coated in algae and diatoms (due to my stupidity of not adding a phosphate remover) and they had it all clean within the week!

When your nitrate is showing under 10

If your tank is cycling its not likely your nitrate will go below 10 by itself without doing water changes. You need your ammonia/nitrite to be zero then do a water change to bring your nitrates under 10ppm. Then you can add your CUC.
