When is it time to change my filter bag?

I either overlooked this one in other articles, or didn't see it. Just curious if anyone could give me a heads up. When do I know it's time to change my filter bag? I just started a new tank regime:

Weekly I do a 10-15% water change, and vacuum the gravel. (I don't pull all the gunk out, I leave some to break down.) I also rinse the sponge in the old tank water (which I wasn't doing before, D'oh!) Every 60 days, I replace the filter bag.

I usually only replace any filter parts when absolutely necessary (damage, past effective life, disease). However for peace of mind many often schedule these things. So if you feel that the filter bag has served its purpose after 60 days then go for it. HTH
