I have a problem. The problem is me. How do I exert enough self control to say to myself enough fish for you tank. My tank is overloaded according to the given parameters. The aeration and plants give the tank a bit of "breathing" space.
When I see an unusual or very pretty fish that I know will fit into my community setup I can't resist buying it. Is there an answer that anyone can give me to say enough is enough.
STOP...

I know I should or I will need to buy another tank. Unfortunately my wife will probably complain if I have another tank in the living room. The present one take up one whole alcove with no room to spare. It does look lovely, but I don't think I will be too popular if I'd ask for another. :(

Dragon, Nice Avatar.
You are suffering from "not enough water syndrome" You can cure the NEWS by buying another tank, or a larger one. There is no other cure,,,sorry :)

There is no cure unfortunatly but Mac's idea sounds good. Why not think of some place else in the house. I use to have two tanks in the office but since doing it up the two tanks are lying empty. All though the Grandson is getting the 2' hospital tank for some goldfish. breaks my heart that did.

No micricle cure then. I have a terminal condition called, Not enough water syndrome. Ah well it could be worse, I could have too much water syndrome.lol Thanks GL-the painting looks better in real life. It is 800x600 on the PC. Davy did a good job though to enhance it for an avatar.Mrs Dragon is the artist with the talent in this household. I have tried to get her interested in fish, but gardening is her thing. She sees fish as I see gardening. She sees pretty fish swimming in a tank. I see flowers in the garden. Not a lot more can be said there.

Dragon, Fish, garden, fish, garden. BIG pond! That's it. Then you need to convince your lairmate that you need a huge tank to bring them in for winter.
Better yet, get her into aquascaping. Winter would be a good time to introduce her to this.

Instead of purchasing multiple tanks I would suggest perfecting the tank you have. Fish Keeping is an art and creating a perfect tank can take years of patient dilligence. Most fishkeepers are simply posers who tire of one tank and move onto another. Their attention span is akin to a 13 year old girl hooked on music videos. Perfect the tank you have!

Ah Mike, you make a good point. However, I don't think my wife would like my african cichlids thrown in with her rainbows and glass cats.
Some view perfection as having species tanks and enjoying the different habitats associated with them. If one has the space and time and talent, why not?

well since YOU can't get another tank, why don't you get me one?

or you can say this-woman!! i'm gettin another tank and if you don't like it leave it.imo this should work :/
it didn't for me :look: but maybe you have a better way w/words.
