When Does A Bn Plec Get Bristles?

I gave in and got a tiny tiny albino BN Pleco, as ugly as I think they are, there's just something about them that made me wanna get one anyway.

he/she is about.. I say an inch and a half or so head to tail, but is bristleless, which makes me wonder if maybe I got swindled into buying a pleco that isn't bristlenose, but just albino.

How big are BN's when they get the bristleness? Bad picture attached:

Ignore the dirty wood, I need to clean the white moldy stuff off it today. Pain in the butt :shout:

It could be a female, females don't have the bristles :) . I am not sure at what size the males get the bristles but I would have thought there would be stumps there by now :good: . So I would say it a female.

if its female it will not get bristles my 2 males got their bristles about 1.5 inches
 
Dude u bn where fast developers lol

Bn cant normal be sexed at 1.5" because they are the only fish who pick what gender they wont at birth until at least 2" long

As sed female dont NORMALY get them and if they do they are so tiny its bearly visable :) my 2nd males is 2"-2.5" and hes only just gettin his

I spent much time finding my male jet fire and didnt realise my albino male had bristles growing lol the are still about 1mm tho but hes getting there lol

Also dw u havnt been sold a normal plec this is def a bn not albino its a golden

Golden= black eyes
Albino= pink eyes :)
