when do khuli's come back into season?

anyways, does anyone have a suspicion about when khuli loaches should come back into season (i.e. start showing up in the shops)? i'm wanting to get a couple of friends for my singleton...

also, who else thinks we could use a pinned topic about "what fish are in season when"? (oo me! oo me!)

looks like the answer might be now ("ahora"). ) just visited liveaquaria.com and they've got black khulis on sale. however, they've also got the weirdest thing i've ever seen --a minimum 50 gallon tank for khulis?! what's that about? is there something i don't know about these 3" fish?

I didnt realize fish had seasons, is that for wild caught ones?

i think that's the way it works. most fish are wild-caught or wild-bred, so they tend to be more available at certain times of the year than at others. i'm pretty positive that khulis are one of the fish that sell in seasons.

I went to like 15 pet stores lookin for those kuhlis. Seems around the end of summer they are harder to get. Don't forget the tsunami, hit some areas. Hard to ship and find.
I finally got 2 though (They are so happy )

They've also been mostly sick batches the past year and a half or so which makes it harder to find them than normally. I got five a year ago but haven't seen any since.

My one LFS has them in pretty much all year round.
In my other, I just saw a whole batch of the teensiest kuhli's yesterday. They were not even 0.5" and thin as thread, but clearly had kuhli markings. Never seen them that teens

Opposite experience on my end: I've been looking for a few more for a while, and they suddenly appeared *at the end of summer*.

You sig says NJ; if you are close to NY, there is a store with about 50 of them (as of yesterday).
