Okay, when the pet shop puts the fish in the bag, do you think it would be okay if i took stress coat and put some of it in the water for the fish to help with the travel home?
I remember that when I bought one of my fish, the one shop I went to put some sort of chemical in the water. Since then, the shop closed down.
I am thinking it was stress coat or a similiar product.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, most put a stress releveing product in teh bag, and something to put oxygen in the water. They probably alreday have stress coat in teh tanks and therefor it would be in teh bag of water. Also, you wouldn't want to overdose the stress coat in that small amount of water in the bag. But maybe it coudl work...i odn't know

I work at a petsmart in my town and we add stresscoat to every bag of fish we bag. So yeah if you would like to carry around a bottle of stresscoat and put it in the bag it actually helps the fish, b/c they loose their proctectant slim coating while being caught. The stress coat actually helps replenish their slim coating. The tanks don't really have it in them inless its a "hole-in-wall" petstore where they have individual tank systems. so its up to you and that guy before me kinda summed it up. ~Kevin
