I bought a freshwaterfish at Walmart- labeled as Dragonfish. I know a pic would help bunches but my camera doesn't work right now! since they seemed to mislabeled the fish, I'm not sure that the information they gave me as to what he eats was wrong as well.

He has a eel like, long body ( I picked the smaller one amongst them-he's now 3.5 inches)! His head/face fainlty reminds me a bit of an Anglerfish, minus the big teeth and that Attenna out of hte head. He is silver/whiteish, has a pointy Analfin! he has two bigger fins on the side of his head and a ragged one along the back all the way the bodylength. He really does look like a dragon, but looking it up on the internet I couldn't find anything, except that the real dragon fish don't look anything like him, couldn't find anything under dragon eel either! he has tiny pinsize eyes on his head, u can almost overlook them! He's a bottomdweller, but can swimm a bit up if he wants to- any help would be appreciated!

Thanks Nelly, that is in fact him! Awesome! I don't understand when I looked at google through Dragoneel nothing came up like this- but looking under your terminologie it actually sure did pop up as a dragoneel!

I'd do a bit more checking with this as I believe they are brackish

I had gotten my Dragon at Walmart, were they kept him in freshwater! I automatically assumed they knew what they were doing, obviously not! It wans't smart of me to just buy him,n not knowing much about him! He did well in my freshwater aquarium but didn't really wanna eat, otherise he was healthy! I assume it is (now I know better) because while they can live in freshwater or sometimes even in salty, they r happier in brakish water as one of u mentioned. I donated him to my Pet Store here today, now he got a beautiful big Aquarium actually to himself in the water he needs and he'll be going to someone who'll know from the start what conditions he loves to be in! I feel so folish and this won't happen again! I usually research the critter I get before I buy them, I saw Dragon, fell in love and just went ahead and got him. well, at least I think he'll have a better longer life now, since he's in the Hands of a real petstore who knows him and will also only get him to someone who will give him what he needs! Thanks for your help though guys!!!!
