Have you never used a phone back in the dark days? You know those things like a candlestick that you shout into with a little thing attached by wire that you hold next to your ear?

When I was younger, we had a couple of Styrofoam cups and a piece of string. It worked great as long as you were within 10 feet of the person at the other end.
