What's your opinion on this tank?

well speaking as someone in an England
(where different views on keeping bettas exist)
I personally wouldn't keep a betta in it.

as for the mirrored part surly this would make the
fish flare all the time and thus cause him stress,
which would lead to a reduced immune system
and then give rise to disease(s)

Just my opinion.

I think I'd have to agree.
I think that would, to my betta boys anyway, be considered kind of a torture chamber of sorts. After seeing how Jasper and Charlie act when I let them see each other for just a few minutes, I'm pretty sure that somebody in a setup like that would have a stroke. :p

I wouldn't get it.

Ohh, I'm not thinking about getting it guys. Just surfing around Ebay (bored at work)... I had never seen a tank like that.... Way too small for me anyway, I like to keep my guys in at least a gallon. :D :p

i don't think the size is neccessarily a problem but i wouldn't use it because the dividers are see-thru. all in all, over time i have come to realize that keeping bettas together in a tank such as this one (yes, i have owned a few similar to this one) has more negatives than positives. i prefer to keep each betta in seperate water as they are much happier in their own environment. over time i have also come to believe that clear dividers should never be used not so much because of overall stress but rather the harm that it does to bettas and particularily males mouths. they will hammer the glass with their heads trying to get at the fish on the other side and by doing so damage their mouths.
flaring is important to keeping mentally and physically healthy bettas but regulating their flare time is most important. keep the males carded at all times when not flaring them otherwise your fish will damage their mouths and also get bored and lethargic. keep it exciting for your fish. ;)

I saw a tank like that, this one had no dividers in it.
I liked the layout of the tank, I think its a 2.5 gallon. It gives the betta a lot more swiming room than my rectangle 2.5's.

With this divided tank, I don't like those middle chambers. They are too small and they have really tight corners. I don't think the betta would feel too comfortable always swimming into a corner.

Too expensive. I rather get a 10 gallon tank that cost less than 10 bucks and divide them up. LOL

It's a cute idea, but not idealy practical as aleady mentioned. The ammonia from 4 fish in such tight quarters would be outrageous.

Are the inside panels solid or do they have holes for "flow"?

If they have holes, then exactly what wuv said.

If they don't have holes, whoever gets it is just going to be doing four separate water changes pretty often...

As others have said, not practical. I like the shape though. From the picture you would think it's a lot bigger than 2 gallons! When I saw the pic, I thought each compartment was at least 5. Tricks on the eyes, I tell ya...

:S

Yeah, if the sections don't allow flow then you'd have to have a gravel vaccum to empty the water out..unless you took each guy out and dumped it upside down...I think that'd be a pain to do WC's on personally.

But as far as the clear or mirrored dividers go..you could always get some white plexiglass and cut it to slide down in there .

That thing will tak up alot of space too, and a few of your guys will be facing away from you all the time...unless you are going to sit it on your coffee table or something similar.

It is an intresting tank though. :) Just wouldnt get it.
I know Horizen and Vega go nuts when they meet at the divider (I have most of the divider covered with leaves so its not often). I can imagine how stressed they would be with a fish on both sides of them eeps. ;)
