Whats Wrong With My Sailfin Pleco!

My female pleco's belly has ballooned out since adding a male pleco a few days ago, could she have produced eggs this early or is there something wrong?

There are over 40 fish in the tank and we haven't had any problems with the water or diseases, not even the guppies!!

The tank is very big!! it is a wall divider for 2 rooms. all the water stats are fine, it is swimming round and eating fine!
We have been told it is rare for these plecos to breed without a mud wall (river bank)
Any ideas of what it can be?

I've seen a common female spawn before... in a "normal" tank...

There were pictures on here I'm sure...

Need more info on your fish stocking;

a. Have you recently tested the water quality for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and ph? If so, can post the test results/stats here ?
b. What other fish and how many do you have in the tank? How large are the sailfin plecos and how long have you had them for?
c. Can you get any pics of the pleco in question?



The swelling could be numerous thing, worse case scenario is that the pleco has Dropsy.
