I was wondering if anyone could tell me whats wrong with my blue tuxedo platy?

I have just noticed she has a patch of orange lumpy looking stuff on one side with white lumps on it. It seems so be sticking out from her body and I havn't been able to find any disease symptoms that sound like this :(

I tried to take a photo, its a bit dark but I have drawn the bits where the problem is on top of the second photo to give you an idea of what it looks like.

Anyone got any ideas?

Also maybe I'm getting paranoid now but my figure of eight puffer was just laying on the bottom of the tank under some bog wood curled round on himself, almost bent in half, and he seems reluctant to use his left side fin now...I hope he was just having a rest or digesting his dinner or I'm going to panic! :-(

aw, don't worry
help is on the way :flowers:
i haven't ever seen or heard of an orange spot with white lumps before
but i can ease your mind about the puffer
i haven't owned them myself but i am currently preparing for a dwarf puffer species tank so i know alot about them ;)
puffers tend to gorge themselves and it is not uncommon to see them rest to digest, just like you said
no worries :)

Nuts, unproven, and not sure if it'll work with comm. fish. At time's I've taken some of my larger cichlids into the net and simply scraped something off and treat for a general fungus. Cichlids are way hearty though so I'm not sure how a molly or platy or something of that nature would react......especially if it endangers the lateral line. Hey....atleast its not a 50$ fish :/

That's true she is a cheap fish - but im worried about my other stock catching it

oh the puffer has recovered! I think he must have eaten too much :D
