Could be the shock of being moved to new tank -different pH, temperature and water quality. Did you float him in plastic bag before putting him in tank? I always add some tank water to the water in bag as well while I'm floating them.
Fish sometimes lie sill on the bottom for a while when moved to a new tank. He may eventually recover on his own. Did he look OK and healthy in the shop when you bought him?

I agree.
How long did you climatise the new fish for.

Size of tank in gallons or litries.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

i have two tanks which over time i have added many of fish so i no i aint that all my stats are fine my daughter picked him and i didnt see him as she was with the missus but when i got him home and had a look in the bag he looked a bit tatty his tail wasnt right as u can see from the pic and he was acting strange this is before i added him to the tank

the guppy died that night  but i hate seeing fish suffer and tried to help him all i can and i note to myself to look at every fish that are going into my tank in future

Bless Him.
R.I.P.

Do some water changes over the next few days.

Always check bag water in ph and temp, this way you know how long to climatise new fish for.
