My blood parrot fishs face has like exploded. It started as a tiny red dot over his nostril and stayed like that for weeks. Then it got worse and became swollen and the red dot grew. After another week, his nostril exploded and bled for a while. I thought maybe it was an absess that popped and that it would heal. I went away for a couple of days and when i came back the nostril was a hole and the bottom of his cheek has opened up too. Its just getting worse. Ive used bacteria treatment, infectiom treatment, salt, partial water changes, checkrd the parameters. Nothing is helping. I need help identifying whats wrong and what treatment to use because i dont know what else to do.

Hi what is the tank size, eater params, water conditions, and what is the aquarium dimensions?

@Byron and @Colin_T can probably help you way more than me.

It could be that he injured himself on the gravel or one of the plastic plants

Parameters: Temperature24°C
Ammonia0 ppm
Nitrite0 ppm
Nitrate 30ppm
For a 28 gallon tank
He is on his own because he doesnt get along with other fish.
Its not a scrape because it started as a tiny red dot and got worse from that. When i noticed the dot i took all plastic plants out and just kept his real plants. But when it kept getting worse i put them back in because he was stressed without them and it was clear to me at that point that it wasnt caused by them.

Hmmm this sounds bacterial. How is the fish's poop? Is it white?

That tank is a bit on the small side, with as active as Parrots are and the way they have to maneuver to eat, he could have very well injured himself on anything in the tank.

Edit to add: I would be suspicious of HITH (hole in the head) they can become large, red sores. "Bad" bacteria in water is leading cause. I would wipe the glass and do large water changes daily for a week at least 80% volume.

Most likely a bacterial infection. Unless you can get antibiotics from pet shops in the UK, and you can't, a specialist fish vet would be the place to contact in the UK. They can prescribe antibiotics to treat the fish.
