What’s up with those “Alien” Betta?

Was at Petco the other day, and, as is customary, I checked out the bettas. One awesome halfmoon koi, one black orchid betta with a swim bladder problem, many mislabeled metallic betta, and some strange little white babies…average stuff. Then I saw this weird little green/blue betta, plakat, labeled as a Alien betta. Supposedly they’re hybrids, but of what species, I can’t tell. What’s the deal with them?

I didn’t actually take a picture of it, but it looked a lot like this. Just grayer, with shorter fins.
