Unsure if this is the correct forum to post this on but here goes.
I have got two chinese algae eaters, had them for about 2 years, one is now 15cm the other slightly larger and fatter.
They have never behaved like so many articles i have read claiming them to be boisterous, agressive and just generally thugish. They used to chase each other around when i first got them however they never really bothered with the other fish, infact i have had a male platy that acts more like Mike Tyson than they ever had, punching well above his weight including a 30cm plec.
However over the last few months they have began to bury under an artificial log that i have, and bury they do. They now have a little cave that they live in only coming out to feed. I was just wondering if they are showing spawning behaviour of some sort?
Has anyone managed to breed them in their tank? If so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
