What's This On My Platy? Fungus?

I've been advised to post here, so I've copied the link.

Two plates have white fuzz

They are a week in the tank, no chemicals etc coming in.

Nitrate is relatively low, nitrite 0 and ammonia is less than .25 with a mini cycle going on

Not sure what to do

Looks like it might be columnaris, which is a bacteria, or possibly some sort of fungus. You'll want to come at it from both angles.

I would treat the entire tank to be sure.

Melafix and Pimafix as per bottle instructions, raise the heater a few degrees (Google max temperatures for all of the species in your tank.), and add an airstone.

Also, water changes. Any amount of ammonia or nitrite stresses fish out as it poisons them. A stressed fish does not have a good immune system or slime coat, which makes them highly susceptible to this sort of thing.

Be sure to sit down and do some math so that you can replace the correct amount of medications/treatments as you change the water. This is important. Keep your ammonia and nitrites at 0.

(If you don't choose to use Melafix and Pimafix, be VERY careful. Columnaris, as I mentioned, is a bacteria. Anti-bacterial chemicals are not choosy. They kill all bacteria, including the good stuff in your filter.)

Which medication have you bought? Others better qualified than me may be able to advise as to how to use it etc.?

This is what I'm using

I added 12g to the tank today, and will do every other day for two more occasions. Up to three times.

The #29### is, I'm away now til Sunday night. Best of luck to the fish for now
