Ones opaque the other isn't apart from that there is no real difference.

spose, stupid question, i was just wondering if anyone had problems with clear, like going green with algae

I haven't heard of differences in the textures of the surface between the 2 colours and cant imagine there would be but the clear one would make the algae visible whilst the black would hide it slightly.

clear normally discolours slightly and can attract algae.

i go for black, never saw any on my planted tank.

ive just ordered a custom tank and the silicone comes black as standard. most charge for black silicone as an extra. nd aquatics don't.
