whats the most number of neons youve ever had?

ever have like 30+ neons? i have 6 in my 55g and im fixing to add 6 more. was just curious how they did long term in large shoals.

I kept about 20 at one point. They certainly do excellent in large shoals.

I currently have 25x neons (inc 9 Lutino, 6 gold), and 8 cardinals.
they are a stunning group.

I only have ten at the moment but if i had room id have more. I read a lot of people on here moan about noens - boring, not hardy enough etc etc I couldnt disagree more, I have had no problems with mine and they are among my favourite fish.
My LFS has a 40G set up just heavily planted with nothing but neons - it looks fantastic

In the past, when my tank was stocked with other things, ikept around 24 neons.

I found they didnt schoal as close as harliquins, and i liked harliquins colours better too. Thats why i have them now. My lfs has neons for 70c so maybe one day ill just buy 50 to have in another tank. Lord knows they wouldnt fit in my tank now, but my eel would propbably make short work of them!

I had about 27neons at one point in my 50gal and they did very well, never lost a single one, but i wanted to make more space in the tank for other types of fish so i reduced the shoal to 15 which i still have.

I have had 16 in my 33gal. After a bout of (suspected) NTD a few months ago I am now left with 10 which seem to be doing well. So far...

I was a bit disappointed to find that they aren't the best schooling fish but are still beautiful.

I had 13 which looked very nice but im down to 10 due to 2 cases of NTD and one just dissapeared.
