What's the longest bacteria bloom you've had?

Mine finally cleared up after 7 weeks. It started right after adding a Dollar Store ornament.

I wonder if that was bacterial. I have had 24 to 36 hour bacterial blooms. I wonder if you had some sort of chemical reaction?

Given the value of a dollar store ornament, I'd remove it and do a series of water changes. It could be a coincidence, but if it isn't, I would have pulled it the first day.

I'm a dollar store psychic, and I see a series of water changes after the ornament is out...

I talked to another member here and since it was cloudy white, he thought it was probably bacteria.
It got cloudy slowly.
The ornament was in the tank for less than a week before I clued-in and removed it.

For the ornament to do that, there would have to have been something organic to feed the bloom.

I would suspect paint or something like that dissolving.
