Whats The Dummest Thing You Have Ever Done

well as you can see from my last post i am prone to bouts of stupidy . so whats the biggest oh no moment you have had setting up a tank?

as i said buying the fluval fx5 and discovering it would not fit under, so i had to cut the cuboard base out with a jigsaw
also my tanks covering my tv ariel and telephone socket,its a 566litre tank so if anything happens its gonna be fun emptying and moving that, not a 2man job moving the tank and cabinet,home made heavy stand

oh my god nelly and i thought i was a muppet i take heart from that . if it wasnt for the fact that my light tubes hadnt come with the rest of the stuff my new tank would have its 1st fish tomorrow . grrrr as it is i have got to wait yet again .

could put the fish in now but i want to get the plants etc right 1st so that when i net them from old tank to new they can be left in peace to settle in

Hard to think of the dumbest. Missing the drain bucket with a siphon hose, or overfilling a tank happens. Buying some used 150 gallon tubs from a guy in the next state, with the intent of putting them in the fishroom before measuring the door width is up there. Still wouldn't fit after I took the door off the hinges. Had to remove the door frame from the studs to squeeze them in.

i actually filled up my 350L tank, using buckets (4 of) all the way to the top,before i noticed that one corner of the tank was balanced on the rim on the stand instead of in it..so made a few panic`d calls while sucking on the syphon,then help arrived,and it wasnt untill about 30 bucket fulls in that my son said " mum its not balanced at all", the lip of the stand had been damaged and slipped a little bit,giving the appearence that it was "balancing" one of the scariest moments of my life i have to tell you,as it was the biggest tank to date,it did get filled eventually..and it still makes me smile when i think just how close i was to my first heart attack !!
