Whats the Difference between this salt:

item_59.jpg

and this salt:

io_salt.jpg

can they both be used for Brackish set-up or what?

Thanks ;)

The top one is a tonic (medication) salt for freshwater tanks and the other is marine salt for brackish and marine tanks.

The bottom one can be used for brackish and marine tanks, the other is for treating FW tanks, not the same as Sirm said.

Okay, thanks!

So they do different things, even though they're the same thing? :dunno: (Sodium Chloride, Halite, NaCl, salt)

Just expanding my knowledge! Thanks!

Its not just Na+ and CL- theres Ca2+ and F- and carbonate and bicarbonate and Potasium and strontium and manganese and Just about anything you can imagine being water soluable, remember all the salt in the ocean was washed off of the land, at one point very early on the oceans were freshwater, they have been salt water for the past few billion years but just about every Ion imaginable is in there in some concentration.

The tonic salt is just another formula thats all
