Whats the difference........

between Tropical and Brackish?

hi mrs!,welcome to the forum. the difference beween the two is that there are tropical freshwater which is as it says freshwater and there is tropical brackish water which is freshwater with some salt added. not sure of the quantity of salt tho, i'm sure someone will fill in on this... hope this helps pebbles

We have 2 very well established tropical tanks, and i have started a 3rd for Fiddler Crabs.

I read that they like Brackish water (is this right?) but i would like to also add a few fish, not sure on what fish are suitable in Brackish water

I think Mollys like brackish water, but I'd suggest posting a note in the Livebearers post just to be sure.

Yes mollies are definately brackish water fish. I don't really know how they will do with the crabs, though.

The Fiddler has been living with Platys and Mollies for about 8weeks and everything has been fine, I have started a new tanks and decided to have more Fiddlers.

I bought 4 Balloon Molly fry from the lfs and when they get a little bigger I will transfer them into the Crab tank
