In my 39gal at the moment, i have a fluval4 internal filter that i seem to be having problems with.
i clean it out once a week, but still, somewhere its blocked, i can't be bothered to mess with this thing anymore, so i deffinetly want to get an external filter.
I need a filter that isn't too pricey, but does the job.
any suggestions?

thanx

i use an aqua-one cf1000 that came with my fish tank..
would probably cost more or less £100 but very reliable.
:good:

Eheim 2224 or 2026 :good:
I have the 2224 on myh 47 gallon but it's extremely gentle and almost don't even feel the output from the spray-bar, though it does a fantastic job. And that's why I recommend it for a slightly smaller tank.

I'm looking into etting a Juwel Vision 180 and replace the internal filter with the Eheim 2026 and after a lot of research I found the cheapest from www.1st4aquatics.com £100 inc media + free delivery

You can get a eheim classic 2213 with media for £50. This filter would suit the tank you have. HTH.

I run a 2213 on my 19 gallon and struggle to see how it would efficiently cope with something twice as big.

Well the Eheim Classic canister series and Filstar Canister Filter are good and not that expensive canister filters(external filters). Well their are cheaper filters but those are power filters.
