We had 3 apple snails, and 2 have died and the last is dying atm.
I'm just curious, what is the white stuff that shows up when they die?
It looks like it's actually part of them. It's not mold or anything like that.
The previous 2 that have died both had it, and the 1 that is dying now has it as well.
Wish I could be more specific about it lol.

If its white and fuzzy its a fungal infection, if its bacterial then it will be clearly defined and white.

No no, it's not fungal or anything like that. The white stuff is PART of the snail that turns white when they're dying.

Bacteria decomposing the remains? Would need a picture to be sure.

What are your water stats: temp, ammonia, Nitrate, nitrite, ph ect. Do as much testing as you can if your lacking in tests go to your LFS and mark down the results you get and post them here.

My water stats are fine.... tanks have been properly cycled and all that stuff.

I already threw away the snail or I would've taken a photo :\

No idea if it was just the tissue breaking down b/c on the other 2 previous snails, it was only just 1 part of them that turned white. No idea what it was. It may have been the organ they use to get air at the surface? Not sure though... looked more intestine-y. *shrugs*
Oh well.. if we ever get more and it happens again when they eventually die, I'll be sure to snap some photos before tossing them :D
