What's my Plec?????

Probabl a very common question,
but I got a plec a couple of days ago and don't know what he (or she) is.

Mainly black with whiteish spots. It's kind of a mottled effect.


Any ideas cos I ain't got one

I was thinking it may have been a peppermint catfish. But maybe not.
Sorry i dont know much bout anyother plecs cept bristlenose, I wanna help you out tho

We've got the Aqualog All L Numbers Second Edition which pictures 400 species of plecs.

I would guess about a fifth of them are blackish with mottled spots.

Having read a very recent thread he/she may be a gibbiceps plec. I saw a pic and it looked VERY like mine.

Has anyone got any idea how big they grow?!!!!

Very, very big. Huge in fact. Well over two feet.
