Just went in to give my fish their dinner and my little male albino cory was "vibrating" and "wriggling" all over the place. Wondered what on earth had happened to him then noticed her...
So that's what they are doing
He seems more interested than her, keeps going over to her folding himself in half in front of her face and wriggling about. She gets interested and gives him the old "belly tickle", then swims away... awwwww, no eggs though (yet), but looks like their practising, bless 'em.

Blimey, seems everything in my tank is wanting to spawn - shall I take it as a compliment?

Pics of the soppy pair =)

Hi JustKia :)

That sure does look like that's what they're up to! :hey: She looks nice and plump too.

You mention in your signature that you have 3 albino corys. Is the third one a male, and if so, is he showing any interest?

Hi JustKia :)

I guess it's now a matter of wait and see. Good luck!

LOL we'll see.
If I see eggs I'm going to be tempted to transfer them to my (as yet unused) QT with an air stone...
If I do see them and if I do give in to temptation how should I go about moving said eggs safely?

If you're going that way... Siphoning with a thickish hose is easiest....(into bucket... Bucket floated in new quarters & then submerged slooooowly). & do add a few drops of methylene blue in new quarters to control fungus)

Hi Justkia

awww bless them!!!

Saw that you are just up the road from me, I am at Brackley, near Silverstone just wondered where you got your fish from, do you know any good local fish shops?

Good luck with babies!!

There's no sign of eggs, Ludwig, so if she did lay any then it's down to chance.

Blue Bubble, I use either Shirley Aquatics (Shirley/Solihull) or Rosedale Aquatics (Whitnash/Leamington Spa), both great places =)

Hi JustKia :)

The eggs will be largish and somewhat sticky. For the first few hours they will be soft and easily damaged so just try moving a few to get the feel for it unless they are being eaten. You'll want to gently roll them off the glass onto your finger and then transfer them onto the glass of the tank you plan to hatch them in. It's something that usually takes a bit of practice, but you will get the feel for it quickly.

It is a good idea to move them fairly close together (at least on the same side of the tank) so the airstone can create a good moving current of water over them. This is very important and will help prevent fungus from setting in.

Well, no sign of eggs, but seems like there's a whole load of lurve  going on in my tank (both male danios have chosen their females and now this little cory male has got the love bug too).
I ordered a fry net, so if they should happen to leave some eggs in a visible spot then I can pop them in there and know that there is good water flow.
