What brand aquarium is best? Getting marine fish in April and im looking at the Juwel 400/450. Is this a good tank for marine and where is the best place to purchase it. Ive seen it on www.pet-supermarket.co.uk for £499/£629. Also what brands are best for filters, skimmer, heaters etc for marine that would be suitable for the above tank. Thanks. xx

Well Emma, that sounds a little pricey to me but then again, I dont exactly hail from an area near you ;). I typically do NOT reccomend buying a "combo" or "all in one" setup for a marine aquarium. Typically, combo tanks (even most designed for marine) will have less than satisfactory lighting and many extra filters and other parts that you just won't use (thus wasting money ;)). I typically advise people to decide what livestock they want (big fish, small fish, reef tank, fish only, high-light corals, low-light corals) and then choose a tank and stand and go from there.

If you are looking for an all-in-one setup, I'm pretty sure either Deltec or Aquamedic sells a decent combo tank in the UK

hi emma, personally i would get a rena aqualife tank over a juwel, the quality is better and they don't have those crappy internal filters. either that or look at getting a custom build, not as expensive as you'd imagine :good:
