I have now made space for a 6 footx 1 1/2 x X tank (Will be 125 gallons)
I also have a 38 gallon tank.

So here's the kicker. I have an old albino senegal bichir who I have had for 4-5 year and he will move into the 125.
We are deciding on tankmates and hoped that you all would help us decide!

Keep in mind this WILL be a PLANTED tank

Here is a list of candidates!

Synodontis Angelicus
Synodontis Granulosus (yes, have the funds now!)
Specialtiy pleacos! (Suggestions on specifics welcome! I do like a queen arabesque!)

Then I'm out of ideas >_<

For the 3 footer, it will now be empty! So another planted tank to design
I might raise a family of roseline barbs in there so that they are big enough that the senegal wont mess with them

Then after that... I dont know! I could do a family of different tetras with cory catfish, or another special small pleco, or IDK. Come on guys! IDEAS!

The tank is only 1 1/2 wide so no black ghost knife :[ and I hear clown loaches are too rowdy for plants to stay rooted.

Sorry about that, I was suggesting them from memory and I forgot a crucial part of their profile!

A big tank like that could be great for other Africans like...
A group of 5 Leopards Bushfish, Ctenopoma acutirostre (would need to be added together to stop major problems of aggression)
A group of 4 or 5 African Butterfly Fish (ideally just a single male, but a 6-footer heavily planted could maybe cope with two)
A group of at least 10 "Debauwi Catfish" (although in reality most hobby sold fish are P. Buffei) who will schoal so tightly
African Knifefish, Xenomystus nigri

Remember, the senegal is a MUST! From past experience, a senegal doesnt tend to bug larger african butterflys, but since he's constantly at the surface, he still seems to bug them.

I'm pretty stuck on synodontis, and an addition of a black lancer cat if I can find one. I just got a VT angel fish, and a syno. Flav, but syno. flav and angel are able to go in the 38 or the 125 atm. I wouldnt think I'd want to mix syno flav. with angelicus, so we will see.

But here's the dream lineup atm

(have)
1x Senegal bichir (albino, Eely)
1x VT Angel (pure black, called midnight)

(Dont have)
1x Black Lancer Cat
1x Syno. Angelicus
2x Specialty plecos (medium size, 4 to 10 inches pref. Thinking Flash and queen arab or tiger if I can find them)

Then I want to build on that. For a 125, having 2 cats, 2 medium plecs, 1 senegal, and a VT isnt much. I was thinking of 4-6 more fish, or maybe 2 fish a a shoaling fish of 6 like flagtail port holes.
Might do some Peacock eels and another angel. I definately want some fish like the senegal and angels that are constantly seen and no hidden

Current filtration
1x Fluval G6
1x Aquaclear 70 overhead filter for movement basically

cant decide if it needs more. that's 250 g of filter

UPDATE!

38 gallon stocking

7x Cardinal Tetra
4x Shwartz Cory
1x Julli Cory
1x Tiger pleco (till it reaches full size, then goes to 125)
1x Syno. Flavientatus
1x VT angel

125 Gallon
1x Senegal bichir (albino)
1x Upside down asian cat
1x Blue Phantom Pleco
1x Syno angelicus

Now! probably gonna put one more shoaling fish into the 38 tank

A lot of new fish into the 125 will be needed! Need advicE!

FishyJake13 is selling his juvi Blue Phantom Plecs here. If its of any help :)
