OK so the other day my mother informed me that after she'd decorated the dining room she wanted a large custom tank for it and i've worked out that in the best case scenario (i'm going to persuade for all i'm worth :shifty: ) it would work out at 1274 litres! Dream tank standards right there! Foot print would be 6ft long 2.5ft deep and 3ft heigh. Very ample room i'd say. I'll make my dream cichlid tank with an oscar sev or two, clown loach large cichlids stuff like that but what would you do with all that room bear in mind this is cichlids we are talking about. Gimmie ideas

Fire away

Orange sev's!

ORANGE SEVS!! :D

And possibly a few oscars

Best add then as Juevi's

My moms oscar got beat up by a Orange sev. And a few other oscar's etc.

To make the oscar feed better my mom put the oscar into a 2 ft tank to make him feel better.

he looked alot happier... Then kinda ate all the fish... Then my mom re-homed him as a 2ft tanks way too small!

A sev beat up an O? Never have i heard of that

There are so many options for a tank like that, Geos, JD's even a Jaguar!!!

I couldn't beleive my ears when she told me she wanted a big tank but a monster tank, it's just too good for words :hyper:

Haha our floors are good and solid (very old stone house) and we'll be having it checked out anyway that tank would weigh a good 1274kg whioch in stone is???

Rays may be a tad pricey for me lol i'd be terrifyed of killing one

Or getting killed by one

Lmao anyway.

i Think its around 50 pounds?

less/more

i dont know  sorry

If you could swap the width with the height it may enable you to keep Rays and Arrowana's etc.

Cichlids - for that tank would have to be majority South American to enable a community....A group of Uaru Fernandezyepezi would be my choice.

Oscar, Severum, JD or GT, tinfoil barbs or bala sharks (or both), Bichirs, geophagus species (group of), chocolate cichild, couple of plecs.

As minx said bichir's are cool , you could get the large lower jaw species, something i have on my wish list!

if you like africans a frontosa setup would look awesome. or if you want new worlds then it would be criminal not to have at least 1 sev in there personally id go for a red spotted and a rotkeil maybe with a group of pictus catfish the rest of the space id fill with other smaller ( than sevs that is ) new worlds like sajicas T. elliotti/aureus nics etc and a nice big shoal of giant danios for dithers , basicly id be like a kid in a sweet shop stocking that tank.

coulod also have some nice geophagus such as brasilinensis ( probs spelt wrong) or tapajos

Minx i LOVE the sound of that stocking. Maybe some SDs in there as well. EBJDs are just too good looking, on the subject of plecs and catfish i'd really love at least one of each i'd love a monster plec maybe give a poor common a home? But i'm stuck for catfish something of a decent size obviousely with the cichlids (definately going SA and CA btw :good: ) There is just so much choice with that size tank, i'm always fiddling and tweaking my 35litre and 20gal and the 20gal is only a dwarf cichlid tank! And the 35litre is going to be home to mostly kuhli loach and dwarf frogs with maybe a honey gourami (the betta tanks don't change lol). Never did i think i'd have a project this size. :hyper:

Filteration is going to be huge and as for decor, real plants will be out the window.

fill up my sump XDXDXDXD

nah just kidding id have oscars a lima shovel nose a severum and so on

Your mom might like a large planted tank with a few schools of different fish.
