Hi :)

I noticed my platies were eating one of the plants in my tank and the eaten leaves were soon floating around the tank making it look a mess. Someone suggested I remove the plant and put some skinned cucumber in the tank. I bought a 'screwcumber' weight and all the varieties of fish are enjoying it. What other fresh vegetables can be given? They're probably fed up with cucumber by now! I read on the 'net that potato can also be given, but I'm not so sure! Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

From what I've been told anything green seems to go down well.

At least one person I've heard on here says sweet potato is good, soak it in boiling water for about an hour first.

I think the best way to find out it to try things. You may need to blanche some of the tougher veg first.

Yeah potatos work for plecos at least. Peas are another favourite, but you should pop them out of their shells first

All my platies adore peas- ordinary frozen peas, lightly boiled and deshelled. Also, broad beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, broccoli.

Question about food
1) Do mollies eat zucchini?
2) Can I cook it and then put it in without a weight? Someone told me that this makes them sink? Or do I need a weight of some sort???
My fish get so excited when I go near the tank and when I get water in the tubes for testing they swimm and headbutt my hand! lol I want to give them a treat! :p
