Getting a bunch of girls in the mail tomorrow. I'll take lots of pics when they settle in.

Which plants are best. I know it is a matter of prefrence. Just wondering what the popular vote is. Silk, Plastic, or Live, and what kinds?

THANKS

I think I'd vote for silk, it is the easiest to take care of. But live plants are nice, too. :)

LIVE PLANTS LIIIIIVE! It looks more real (duh!) and its so pretty too =]

Edit: The types of plants you can have (here are just some): Java fern, wisteria, dwarf amazon. Btw, how big is the container? Are they going to be in a community or seperate?

For my tank:

I have moneywort, hairgrass and hmm... you know, I am not sure what the tall thin grass like stuff is that sorta shoots up and then curls over.

Does anyone else know what it is called?

I definitely prefer live plants especially big leaf plants like swords. My bettas like them because the are good cover for them to hide in and rest.

Hmm... none of those look familiar, though.
I'll stop by petsmart one of these days for something, i'm sure - and i'll find out what they were.

The grass in you pic is often refered to as mondo grass. Just put some in my 5 gallon. :D btw Bettamama, I love that new tank you set up for your girlies!

MONDO GRASS!
That's it!!!

I LOVE that stuff. It's sweet.
it reminds me of water reeds, sort of.

thanks for the info :)
And thanks - my girlies just love their tank too.
