I got the from my local fish store i dont know what it is is it safe?

I doubt that it will be useable. Test it with a acid like vinegar and see if it fizzles up.

Hi is it cornish slate? looks very similar to some rocks i have been using for years.

Its not slate it looks like alabasta or some kind of shale.

Looks like a marble its clearly NOT slate, it has the wrong colouration and clearly wouldn't split in sheets, a characteristic of slates.

Its a light rock and very sandy feeling and small grains and dont scratch its pinkish and has a white layer on the top. wet its goes dark pinky brown

So any ideas?
