I think s/hes a common plec but I'v had him for 2 years feeding him/her on aglae wafers and s/he is still only 2 inches.

What do you think?

It looks like one of the Pterygoplichthys species, (possibly a Gibbiceps,) and can get to anywhere from 12 to 18"+
if it is still 2" after 2 years then IMO its either in way too small of a tank or it is struggling to compete for food

The tank is about 80cm long. and its definatly get enough food because i watch him feed.

I think he's in a terrible state...

You need to address your maintenance and the poor things home... an 800 long tank is not big enough.
Look at the state of its fins - clearly not a happy plec :( :(

its got the colouration of a common pleco, and the eyes say its not a gibby, but the measurements just do not add up. i don't them there is a pleco that stays at 3 inch with that kind of colouration.

So when were you thinking of upgrading the 100l tank that contains 2 Severums & 2 Jewels with that common plec? No wonder it looks like it does....... entirely unsuitable for any of those fish - never mind the combination!!!

stange that its grown sooo slowly!!
what are you feeding the plec?
what type of filteration and water maintainance do you do?
for example i do 2oo litre water change sunday and a 150 litre water change either wednesday or thursday :good:

I do a 20% water change weekly and then a 40% water change monthly. I'v got a fluval 2 plus filter. Im feeding him on british king algea wafers with the recommended amount weekly

Thanks for the confidence guy! Common i know i'm not as experienced as most of you but i'm only 14.
kind critism would be good. And the injuries are only recent, plus hes not showing common signs of stress.

That plec should be 10 inches if you have had it that long.

what are the 'common signs of stress'?
