what plec would you say this was?

it was sold to me as a starlight bristlenose, however its not black and white, more blue ans yellow so i think it may be a blue phantom.

i pais £12 for it and i have just seen how much more expensive the blue phantoms are. plec.JPG

does that mean its going to grow larger than 12cm as the shop told me?

apparently its 3 years old and was in the guy at the LFS's tank at home for that time

how long will it tank to grow to full size?

The fish doesnt look anywhere near 3 years old, it looks still to be quite a small juvinile fish... potential size for blue phantoms is 8-10 inches.. so yes considerable bigger than you have been advised.

How big is it at present?

its probably about 3.5 inches.

i said to the guy in the shop that it appeared small for 3yrs old and he said its due to it possibly being a female (starlight)

if he has had it in his tank for 3 years surely he would have realised it was a blue phantom and not a starlight as i have an i am a newbie.

LOL, same old info from LFS.. wrong lol. yep you would imagine somebody having a certain fish after 3 years would know exactly what it is lol.

TBH, he said originally a starlight? and 12cm?.... there are 2 species often named starlight.. L183 (white seam) and L182 true starlight... both can get in excess of 8 inches (20cm+) so his info from the offset is incorrect and just iterates how much he really knows lol.

Lovely looking fish you have there either way :)....blue phantoms do grow extremely slow but i still would imagine a 5 inch+ fish by now at 3 years.
