i was just wondering whether i could of should put some snail, crab, shrimp ect in a community tank (130litres)
(it may sound silly soz)

thanks for any help you can give me :good:

I have an apple snail in my community tank and they are most entertaining, also if you get just one, they wont reproduce so you wont have an unwanted snail population in your tank. crabs im not sure on but anything that has claws and can nip may be a no no.

Actually many snail species are both male and female so even if you buy only one you can end up with "an unwanted snail population". It really does depend on the stock of fish currently in the tank. Most smaller fish would leave adult shrimp alone, but if you want the shrimp to reproduce you can't have them in a community tank as the babies will get eaten. Also depending on the shrimp you could actually have the shrimp hunting your FISH! This species called LongArm shrimp are sold as "Freshwater Shrimp" but they do not tell you they will eat/kill your smaller fish (such as Neons etc.). So please tell us WHICH snail or shrimp (not crabs as they can harm you fish) species you would like in your tank, and what fish you have in there now :good:
