What to pick??

I was thinking about puting zebra danios as my first fish in my first tropical tank as I have read they are hardy fish . What other hardy fish are there that I can pick instead?

how many gallons is the tank, only add a few hardy one's if you are going to be using them to cycle the tank with.

29 gallons in the tank, 6 fish ok? what other fish can you recommend?

That should be ok, can't add anymore till you have ammonia reading of 0 and a nitrite reading of 0, then the tank has cycled.
